Description: When children see themselves in the math they’re learning, curiosity and confidence grow. In this session, Dr. Pamela Seda shares practical ways to design math experiences that build on students’ everyday lives and ways of thinking. Grounded in the Understand Your Students Well principle of the ICUCARE® Framework, this session helps elementary teachers move beyond surface-level connections toward authentic learning—where every child feels seen, valued, and capable of deep mathematical thinking.
