An Excursion<\/em> is a sequence of 4-6 related classroom activities that encourage students to apply the mathematics they are learning to the contexts of their own and others\u2019 lives and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These supplementary projects, field tested in real classrooms, extend the math students are learning. Some incorporate history, art, science, and\/or nature. Others take up an issue in the community or a matter of social justice. All are intended to spark joy in doing mathematics, and to help students see themselves and others in the mathematics they are doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are currently 6 Excursions, available to download.
